ROSEMARY ULTIMATE BRISTLE SHORT FLAT (BRIGHT) SIZE 8 (LONG HANDLE)
The Ultimate’ range of interlocked bristle brushes offer the artist a traditional brush but with double the interlock. We take two equal amounts of best quality Chinese bristle and set them opposite each other so that the natural curve is facing inwards.
The bristle is selected in length and size to enable perfect balance. Although labor intensive this gives the artist a hard wearing brush. Traditionally bristle was used by artists who required a strong loaded stroke and not precision marks.
The Ultimate are a favourite for Oil painters.
They are a much rougher textured brush than synthetics are – and especially in acrylics.
They can be quite difficult to clean. They can be used in acrylics, but they must be cleaned thoroughly and the expectation of them should be for grainy texture and organic marks.
Traditionally bristle was used by artists who required a strong loaded stroke and not a precise mark.
HOW TO CLEAN THE BRUSH
OIL BRUSH
Start with wiping your brushes on a rag or paper towel. You should then wash them thoroughly with a good soap. To clean them thoroughly you can use a dish soap. Don’t endorse the use of mineral spirits or solvents. They are a known brush killer. Oil cleans oil, so safflower, rapeseed & linseed oils should work to
