The DANIEL SMITH Original Oils and Water Soluble Oils undergo the same manufacturing process and are made with the exact same high quality pigments, the only difference is the specially modified linseed and safflower oils to make the Water Soluble Oils. Both the Original and Water Soluble Oils can be mixed together when painting, though the water solubility is lost and traditional mediums and solvents would need to be used.

Made in the USA in Seattle, WA – Each batch of color is made, start to finish, by the DANIEL SMITH manufacturing crew and tested by the full time chemist throughout the manufacturing process to ensure the highest quality for every tube of Oil Paint used by artists.
